LINTING LAKE - DANAU LINTING

Danau Linting is small lake located around 49 km on the south of Medan city.this lake consist of sulfur with the weigh 50 meter around and no one ever know how deep is it.

Danau Linting is located on the top of hill near by TIGA JUHAR village.you can reach this lake by small public transportation with the seater 15 peoples from MEDAN - DELI TUA.

The name of the public transportation are : P-24 KPU, Robinson Jaya and Karya Sari.

BERAS TAGI TOWN

The mountain can easily be reached from Berastagi, a fairly popular traveller’s haunt due to local volcanoes and Batak culture. Berastagi is around 2 hours travel from Medan, the largest city in Sumatra and third largest in Indonesia. Medan’s airport is well connected to other cities in Sumatra and Java, also Kuala Lumpur and Pinang in Malaysia.

Buses depart for Berastagi from Medan’s Pinang Baris bus terminal which is 10km west of the city centre. Transport is frequent and finding the right bus or minibus is easy.

From Berastagi there are opelets (small minivans with two benches in the rear for passengers) to Lake Kawar that leave throughout the day. The yard that they depart from is on the Northern side of the bus station but just ask bus companies and you will be pointed in the right direction. The journey to the Lake is only 24km although how long this takes depends on how many deliveries the driver has to do and detours are not uncommon.

Gunung Sinabung is an active volcano located in the Karo Highlands of Northern Sumatra. At 2460m it is the highest of the area and likely the hardest to climb. The peak is significantly harder to climb than nearby Gunung Sibayak which is popular with tourists and locals alike. Compared to Sibayak the forested slopes of Sinabung are more pristine, the summit views more dramatic and the climb more varied.

There is only one route to the summit that I know of and everybody takes the path that starts at Lake Kawar to the North of the volcano. The climb involves around 1000m of ascent in a single day and sections of the climb involve scrambling. Typically the roundtrip takes 6-8 hours. The lower portion of the route is through dense forest while the final third involves scrambling up a narrow strip of lava flow which is particularly fun. Many people take a local guide although the route is obvious once you have found the tiny trailhead.

KARO traditional house

The original traditional house of KARO tribe is very unique. This traditional house was built more then 100 years ago without single nail with the high around 15 meters and the length around 20 meters.this house inhabit by 8 families and their live very harmony side by side.

This house was constructed of three levels:
first level is using for animals, for the example cow,buffalo,goat and others.
The second level is using by human being,
The third level is using to keep the harvest or fire wood.

The others unique of this house is the door and the window.the size of the door was made lower then size of normal door, so every people who is entering this traditional house must squat and it,s mean you were respect to the peoples who is live in the house,and the window or "pintu perik" was made with the small size around 30 cm X 40 cm."Perik" in karonese language it,s mean small bird, like the bird which live in the church.

You can find traditional house of Karonese in some places in KARO HIGHLAND.( in PECEREN village, LINGGA village, and in the DOKAN village located on the way going to SIPISO-PISO water fall.

To get karo higland/berastagi is very easy.the nearest city is MEDAN,you can reach medan by air,sea.and by (land if you live in INDONESI my lovely country).if you come by air you will landing in POLONIA airport and if your come by sea you will be in the BELAWAN seaport.or if you feel confused just call (+61 812 635 7172)

from Polonia airport only around 15 minutes to the public transportation of SINABUNG JAYA, BORNEO OR SUTRA, and from belawan seaport you will drive around 1 hour. all these public transport will carry you out to karo highland.the location of these public transportation lies on Jalan Jamin Ginting, near Simpang Kuala-medan.(on the south of medan)

Tak lama, mobil menikung ke kiri, melewati sebuah portal yang bertuliskan “Taman Wisata Iman”. Before long, the car swerved to the left, through a portal that reads "Faith Park". Taman Wisata Iman, sebuah nama yang tepat untuk lokasi yang mengandung sejuta makna ini. Taman Wisata Iman, an appropriate name for the location that contains a million of this meaning. Jejeran pinus menghantar kesejukan pada mata. Pine lined brings coolness to the eye. Lalu, satu persatu bangunan rumah ibadah ibadah masing-masing agama tampak berdiri tegar. Then, one by one house of worship buildings of worship of each religion seems to stand strong. Semua rumah ibadah ada di sana. All houses of worship there. Seakan-akan Dairi ingin menunjukkan bahwa keaneragaman agama yang saling rukun dan bersatu adalah sesuatu nilai yang agung dan pantas ditanamkan. As if Dairi want to show that religion keaneragaman harmonious and united to each other is something of great value and worth invested.

Vihara ini telah berdiri sejak tahun 2002 dan hinga kini selalu ramai dipenuhi umat Buddha baik lokal mau pun Medan, bahkan kota-kota lain. This monastery was established in 2002 and now hinga always crowded local Buddhists want any field, even other cities.

Memasuki bagian dalam vihara, sejenak keheningan terasa. Entering the inside of the monastery, a moment of silence was. Sebuah patung Buddha duduk bersila dengan telapak tangan menengadah ke depan sementara tangan kiri menyokong sikunya dari bawah. A statue of Buddha sitting cross-legged with palms up to the front while the left hand supporting an elbow from below. Temaram lampu redup menyala membikin suasana semakin sakral. Dim the lights dim lights make the atmosphere even more sacred. Gema suara pelan dengan penjaga vihara masih dapat terdengar menggelinding di antara bangunan. Echoes softly with guard monasteries can still be heard rolling in between the buildings.

Perjalanan kembali dilanjutkan. Travel back to continue. “ Goa Bunda Maria , sakrarlnya,” Membuat kami penasaran. "Goa Mary, sakrarlnya," Make us wonder. Kami pun segera turun. We were soon off. Sebelum menuju ke sana kami pun harus melewati jalan-jalan setapak menurun. Before getting there we had to pass through the paths decreases. Jalan menurun, meski melelahkan namun paling tidak sebuah makna tergapai dari sana. Way down, though tiring but at least a meaning tergapai from there. Relief-relief yang menggambarkan perjalanan penderitaan Yesus sebelum naik ke surga (the Passion of the Christ) terasa hidup. Reliefs depicting the journey of suffering of Jesus before ascending into heaven (The Passion of the Christ) was alive. Patung-patung itu menggambarkan ketika Yesus diadili, disiksa, memikul salib ke Puncak Golgata hingga akhirnya Ia disalibkan dan dikuburkan di sebuah gua. The statues were described when Jesus was tried, tortured, bore the cross to the summit Golgata until finally He was crucified and buried in a cave.

Beberapa pondok kecil dengan jendela terbuka menghadap lembah dan bukit meramaikan bangunan gereja di samping relief-relief itu. Several small cottage with an open window overlooking the valley and the hills enliven the church building next to the reliefs. Sambil menunggu keluarga yang sedang berdoa, para pengunjung beragama Kristen masih dapat bersabar dengan ayunan dan beberapa tempat duduk dari kayu di taman tak jauh dari pondok doa itu. While waiting for a family who were praying, the Christian visitors are still able to be patient with a swing and some wooden seats in a park not far from the cottage prayer.

Masih setengah perjalanan. Still half way. Terasa lelah mendaki jalanan berkelok naik turun, kami pun beristirahat sejenak. Felt tired climbing up and down the winding road, we rested for a moment. Pemandangan alam yang indah. Beautiful natural scenery. Udara aroma pinus tercium di mana-mana. The air smelled of pine scent everywhere. Anak-anak pelajar tampak berbondong-bondong. Student children appear in droves. Beberapa keluarga asyik berkumpul menikmati makan siang beralaskan tikar. Several families gathered to enjoy great lunch mats. Mereka tertawa, tersenyum. They laughed, smiled. Tampak sesuatu di wajah mereka. Looked something in their faces. Nyaman. Comfortable. Dan, yang pasti mereka berbeda agama. And, they certainly different religions.

Kami akhirnya tiba di sebuah bangunan mesjid dan relief Ka'bah di sampingnya, setelah beberapa menit mengunjungi pura bagi penganut agama Hindu. We finally arrived at a building the Kaaba mosque and relief at his side, after a few minutes to visit the temple for the Hindu religion. Bangunannya tepat menghadap lembah dengan sebuah taman dan tempat duduk kayu di depannya. Appropriate building overlooking the valley with a garden and a wooden seat in front of him. Dari sini akan tampak pemandangan menuju Kecamatan Sumbul. From here the view will look towards Sub SUMBUL.

Sembari menikmati hidangan kopi panas, di hari yang mulai sore itu, kembali terenung dalam hati bahwa inilah karunia Sang Penguasa. While enjoying the meal hot coffee, the day began that afternoon, back terenung in my heart that this is the gift of the Lord.
